This was what I had originally started with was the scene created in blender. I didn't realize how difficult it was going to be and realized I would need more than a couple of days to make it. But I think if I gave it a little more time, it could work.
The next two are what I made in Photoshop after I realized blender wasn't going to work. The first one is in black and white while the second one has an orange tint to it, or sepia-ish.
We can talk about this more in class today-- my impulse is to suggest sticking with blender just because it will give you an image that's more new-- something we haven't seen much before. Maybe even embrace some the the imperfections or difficulties you are having as being part of the content.
ReplyDeleteI see what you tried to do in blender. This is a difficult program I believe for modeling. This is a unique look on this concept and strongly believe you should stick with it. If you need any help let me know
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was that I really want to see what would come of your blender idea. I think the photoshop works well together and there is an obvious theme to what you've mixed together, but there feels like an element is missing. I like the snow a lot and I wish it was possible to have it mixed in with blender so that it was moving over the image, creating a constant snowing effect.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely more a fan of the black and white image rather than the sepia one. The black and white image keeps the image feeling cold and almost takes you into the image and makes you feel like you're right there. The sepia one feels distant and is way too warm for such an image that depicts what looks like an incredibly cold environment.
I like the wolf in the background, but the one sitting in the foreground seems a little out of place. I'd maybe work on photoshopping him in a little better so it seems like he was there all along. And the owl/bird...I like the haunting feeling of him flying over all the other animals but I think he would look better higher up in the image. He would seem more daunting.
Also, is this a print? I can't really see it as much else (unless you could get blender working and then I feel like it could be a projection in a dark room to take you away. It really reminds me of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. Or some sort of Grimm's fairy-tale. It's haunting.
