Landscape Work in Progress ~ Ashley Gallagher

I wanted to make some mountains for this project. The first one was a rough draft that I didn't work too much on but if the second one is too difficult I might go back to it.
The second one has a lake/pool in it. There will be more trees covering the ground. Blender crashed and this was all I had time for. I wanted to add a waterfall coming down the mountain into the lake/pool, maybe a creek or river coming away from it. I don't know if I want to add snow to the top of the mountain.
I'm thinking of having different camera angles, an aerial view, a view looking through the trees, up the mountain, over the lake, etc.

  1. I like how your mountain is shaping up so far. I'm glad you're considering the different camera angles, because as this is 3D, i'm very curious to see what it looks like all around. How will you display this when it's done? Just as the separate photos? I'm not very familiar with Blender, but have you thought about how to situate the mountain in a setting? I think it would be more effective for it to be in a space that is less foreign than a blue backdrop. It doesn't have to be incredibly complicated, but maybe a darker background would help.

  2. i was going to comment... but Adelia said what I was gonna say. so, I second that!

also, if you do present it as still images, maybe you could change the shape of the square it is sitting on and create more of a horizon line behind the mountain.
