For my project I decided to do something very close to home, throughout the semester I've focused on ideas and projects to do with subjects that I wouldn't usually do, to try and broaden my scope. This time around I want to use my strengths and choose a topic I'm going to loving working with.
This is my dog Shaba. These photos are from a few years ago and were taken just a second or so between each other, so yeah hes quite a lively dog. My Goal is to create an narrative short film (5:00) to showcase his living nature and presence.
There's a lot I have still to figure out, like whether it will be a set of clips playing next to each other with extra editing and film effects. Or will developed images be involved along with the clips. As you seen from my last project (Communist Base) it had kind of the same feel to it. I plan to further develop my skills using after effects to get the most out of the features it provides.
I like that you are using your previous digital art knowledge and fine tuning it to create something even cooler hopefully. I am worried that you don't have enough pictures of your dog to create this short film you want (unless you have more than pictured here on the blog). And i worry it will be too choppy. But if that is the effect you are going for, make sure it is constant and it seems to run smoothly (well as smooth as a choppy stop animation-type film can). I don't know if I like the idea of you playing sets of clips next to each other like you did in your previous project. It didn't seem to flow very well, so I would give it some thought if that is really how you want to display them.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea, and what a great way to remember your dog while you are away from him. If you could capture his presence with a video I think it would be awesome, and potentially not extremely hard to do since dogs typically don't have much variation in their activities. Good luck! can't wait to see what the final project brings
