Adelia--Landscape and Space (Project 3)--Final Project

The final result for my third project was nothing like I had originally planned, although the goal remained the same: for this project I wanted a) to focus on my bedroom as a space b) show how the space changes c) see how well I could recreate that space through digital media.

Over Halloween weekend I took panoramas of my room from Friday to Sunday (and one shot very early Monday morning) each time someone other than myself opened the door to my room. If that person(s) had the time, I tried to include them in the panorama.

I took these panoramas and made a time lapse animation in photoshop, then magnified three of the images to project the dominant spaces being used at that moment within the room, then reversed the time lapse to bring the animation back where it started... all of this was done to help illustrate my room/how it functions/changes.

Although the images ended up more or less showing how over the course of a couple of days my room becomes a mess, I still think they're a pretty accurate reflection of my space/how the space changes (not just how messy it gets).

For portion C of the project, I took a projector and projected the animation in various spaces to see how well I could best recreate the room/feeling of the room. To try to make the recreated spaces feel as close to my room as possible, I aimed to position myself and the camera/projector in the same area and line up one dominant wall line with a corner wall line of each space I was projecting it onto.

The videos that follow include the three videos I took projecting the animation back onto

the walls of my room,

into a small box,

and onto the walls of a study carrel.
